No. Your period is caused by a drop in hormones that causes you to shed the uterine lining. During pregnancy your hormone levels constantly rise to retain the lining. You can, however, have bleeding that may lead you to think you are having a period. The most common cause of bleeding during pregnancy is decidual bleeding.

You can think you are having a period that is actually spotting. Spotting can occur with implaintation. You won't be having a period but you may think you are, though it should be lighter than a normal period. If there is any question buy a home pregnancy test to verify.

No - you cannot have a real period and be pregnant. However, that does not mean that you cannot be pregnant and have any menstral bleeding at all. Heavy menstral bleeding can be a bad sign, but lighter bleeding may just be implantation spotting which is normal.

When you have a period, it is your body's way of saying your not pregnant. It sheds the lining of the uterus, along with an unfertilized egg. When you are pregnant, you do not have a period. Bleeding during pregnancy is not normal, and a physician should be consulted.

No, the definition of a period will not allow you to have one and be pregnant, some pregnant women mistake implantation spotting and spotting for their period. If you are pregnant and are bleeding you should call your dr.
