Can you guy a house without an agent?

I do not want to involve an agent when buying a home.

Yes, you can buy a house without a real estate agent. However, you do still have to pay the real estate agent commissions of the seller's agent. And without an agent, it would be wise to have a lawyer review any contracts before you sign them.

You certainly can buy a house without an agent, but to do so you should have a good knowledge of real estate practices and laws in your area. Navagating your own closing can cause you a lot of trouble and heartache if things go wrong, not to mention money.

You can buy a home without a real estate agent. Keep in mind that there is much involved in purchasing a property, which is where the agent's expertise comes in. Financing alone involves a host of requirements before approval and closing. If you don't want to engage an agent, you would do well to hire a real estate attorney.
