Answer by  Traybill (7)

Kelp is a plant that can grow up to 1' a day. To grow and to be healthy, it depends on ocean currents, sunlight, low water temperature, and nutrients from the saltwater it thrives in. Kelp can be found off the coasts of California and Tasmania, and it would not be possible to replicate those habitats inside of a house.

No, virtually not. Kelp needs the oceans temperatures, food, currents and other surroundings to survive. It grows in underwater forests and needs the protection of other kelp to grow. It requires a nutrient rich environment to survive and grow. The kelp life cycle has stages sensitive to the sexual reproduction. Without kelp nearby to create a forest, it cannot survive.
