You could but I would advise against it, especially in a pool since your blood with dilute into the water. Your bleeding can and will also stain the lining in your swim suit even though you are constantly in water. Just use a tampon, you will be happy and everyone else will be happy.

Of course you can, but it might be quite embarrassing so I don't think that I would try it. Why don't you want to use a tampon? That would solve your problem and you would not have to worry.

Swimming on your period without a tampon is an unwise choice. If this is done, it is almost certain to cause problems, even embarrassment. This is obvious by nature of the fact that tampons are used to absorb uncontrollable blood leakage from the body.

No, it disgusting and very unhygienic for the other people who would like to swim! However, it is possible if you use a menstrual cup, because they don't absorb water and they don't let anything out.
