Can you get carpal tunnel from a car accident?

Answer by  lindafutral (34)

Carpal tunnel is a condition that you can get only from repetitive action in a semi-stationary position. A car accident would not cause this condition as it does not meet the required repetitiveness to produce the condition.

Yes, this is referred to as traumatic carpal tunnel syndrome. It is usually the result of a fall or car accident where the wrist is severly injured.

Carpal tunnel is caused by constriction of nerves in the wrist usually due to swelling. A car accident could cause this if there was trauma.
