Can you get a settlement from workman compensation settlement when you get hurt on the job but did not require hospital stay?

Yes. The requirements, however, are if you lost work time (and thus income) and / or if you have associated medical costs (such as rehabilitation or medications and doctor's visits).

Whether you were admitted into a hospital for treatment is not important. You can be compensated even if it is only a strain or sprain, which required treatment.

An award is not predicated on a hospital stay necessarily, but the seriousness of the injury and impact are an issues. A Worker's Comp attorney can give the best advice.

A hospital stay is not necessary, but the worker has to provide his employer with the date and time of the accident, description of the accident or illness, and complete contact information such as employees name, address, and phone number. A doctor will need to be seen and proper paperwork submitted.

You can file a claim with workmans comp for any incedent causing you injury or illness at work. This can be related to a single incedent or a prolonged exposure. However, company does have the right to dispute your claim. If you are found to be intoxicated or not following saftey rules you would be barred from a settlement.
