Yes. Mouth to mouth kiss with exchange of saliva can pass many disease like common cold, flue or herpes. If one partner has mouth ulcers and the other is HIV positive, then even HIV infection is also possible

You can get diseases, but you are not likely to get an STD from kissing. You can get mono or other viruses from kissing though.
