The participants in a court case have multiple opportunities to explain their side/views in the matter. The judge (or jury) considers all the input and make a decision, at which time, the case is concluded and the decision final. Motions are filed in open cases, not those that are completed. Some cases can be reviewed for appeal.

In some cases, you can file an opposition. This is called an appeal. You would ordinarily need a lawyer to research the case to look for discrepancies in evidence presented, witnesses, definitions of legal terms or contracts, and other research on other variables. If you appeal a decision, having the same judge can be a disadvantage.Often,it helps if the next judge elected presides over the case.
