If your kitten constantly appears to be 'crying', s/he may have an allergy or sinus infection. However, this could also be symptomatic of Kidney Failure or someother type of disease.

An easy way to tell, like in humans, is frequent sneezing or "hacking" (when they seem to have excessive hairballs). Also, if they tend to bite or chew on their own skin or fur, they could have an allergy. Usually it has a lot to do with their diet.

if the kitten licks herself so much, try to experiment-give her the same food for 3days, if it doesn't show any new symptoms, then try other foods. This will easily test if it has allergy.

If you kitten is sneezing every so often then it is possable she has allergies to some thing in the place she is. If the kitten is also licking certain parts of its body most of the day then would be another sign.

Pretty much the same way as in humans. Excessive sneezing, scratching and/or licking, and dripping nose are good indicators as is rashes on any patch of open skin.

Sometimes an animal can be allergic to something in their food. A major clue is scratching and bare spots. Change the food and see what happens. If you think the kitten has allergies because its eyes or nose are running, call the vet. It's likely to be something else.

While humans sneeze, cats react to allergies with skin and stomach problems. If your kitten is pulling out hair in patches or vomiting frequently, it might be an allergy. Usually, cats aren't allergic to just one thing, but one thing, like food protein, might push them over their threshold.
