The capture dimensions of the camera will support a rang of print sizes. An 8mp digital camera, for example,can print up to around 7.5"x11" at 300ppi. Enlarging beyond the pixel dimensions of an image will decrease its quality. However, software such as Genuine Fractals can enlarge the pixel dimensions with good results.

It affects the quality.If u really want to doit then use the software designed for this purpose only like fractals or si pro.There are better, but complicated Photoshop techniques ALSO.
