While Mr. Johnny and his partner were singing a song, he stopped the song and asked her whether she would marry him. She was shocked and asked him sing other songs and continue the show. He said he will not sing untill she agrees to marry him. He did nothing and did not sing and finally she said yes.

Johnny Cash proposed to June at a concert. He had just finished performing "Jackson," and instead of going on to another, he said into the microphone, "Will you marry me? " She ignored the question and told him to sing another song. He refused to do so until she answered. She finally said, "yes," and the show went on.
