Can you compare concrete to blacktop driveway cost?

What are the differences in cost of concrete and blacktop driveway.

Concrete averages $100.00 a yard and that is actually 3x3x3. So if you consider pouring a 4" thick driveway and figure the square footage you can figure this by the foot. Asphalt is typically $3.50 per square foot.

A concrete driveway will generally cost more than asphalt. With union labor concrete should be about $11 per square foot and asphalt should be about $4 per square foot.

There is less skilled labour involved in laying a concrete drive as opposed to a blacktop (asphalt) drive; also the materials used are cheaper.
