Absolutely, there are tons of shawl patterns available. You can purchase books, leaflets and magazines in stores, and download patterns from craft and knitting web sites. The "big box" craft stores (i.e. Michael's, JoAnn, AC Moore) carry a good selection, but small knitting shops may offer more unique designs.

JoAnn Fabrics and Michael's both carry a wide selection of patterns for knitting shawls. Walmart also has some patterns for shawls in the crafts department in the area where the yarn is located.
