Witch hazel, while commonly used to "cure" many things, has little by way of proven scientific qualities in medicine. However, just as placebos work to cure a whole range of things, witch hazel can be used to cure scabies if you believe that it will work.

Witch hazel can cure almost anything. I've used it for all sorts of bites and even pimples and what not. It just helped all the way along. Therefore, I recommend you try it on and place it about two times a day to have the most effects on your system.

No. Scabies is a viral infection that is closely related to chicken pox and needs the care of a doctor.

Sorry. I actually confused Scabies with Shingles. Scabies is a skin irritation caused by a skin mite and requires prescription topical creams to cure. Witch hazel would not be enough to cure.  add a comment

that isn't necessarily true, the smell of the witch hazel drives the mites out, it's just like chiggers, witch hazel will work in curing scabies.  add a comment

So you know scabies isn't viral its parasitic. It is cause by ticks burrowing into the skin and not related to chicken pox in anyway.  add a comment

Witch hazel has not been known to cure scabies. Witch hazel is used to bring out a bruise. Scabies is very contagious and is cleaned up with an anti-biotic and cream. Being a very itchy disease you must not scratch the scabies or use other peoples towels and face cloths.

Witch hazel, when combined with tea tree oil, is a fine natural alternative in reducing the signs of scabies and can possibly help in curing this pesky skin problem. However, the witch hazel and tea tree oil combination may not be as effective as a prescribed scabies medication which contains more potent ingredients.
