Can the density of aluminum change?

As long as the aluminum is pure, then the density cannot change. Aluminum is an element, and density is an identifying factor for elements because it is based on the atomic structure of the material. If you created an aluminum compound like aluminum oxide, then the density would be different.

This answer forgets to take into account temperature change. Under varying temperatures density does change.  add a comment

Aluminum in its elemental from will always have the same density as long as it as no outside source intervenes. Aluminum can be heat treated, hardened, or even made into various alloys. These things will all affect its density.

Yes the density of aluminum can change according to the weather and climate. But it can also change if the aluminum is placed under a different substance. Aluminum on a hot day weighs more.

No the density of aluminum can't change no matter what is done with it. Even if it were to experimented with chemically, then there still would be nothing that could be done to its density. Density in elements is fixed no matter what is done to it and will never change.

Yes it can, depending on the alloying elements and casting properties. Aluminum foams and honeycombs can also be made, changing the bulk density.

The density of aluminum is affected by temperature. The mass will stay the same but as temperature changes volume will change. As density is mass/volume it is easy to see the relationship volume has to density. The Coefficient of thermal expansion is used to determine the volume change.
