Peripheral neuropathy, or numbness in the fingers and toes, is a reported side effect of statin drugs in some people. The effect may go away as you continue on the medication, or might continue for as much as a year even after you stop. Consult with your physician about the numbness to get an accurate diagnosis and treatment advice.

Numbness in your big toe is probably not from taking Zocor but tell your doctor immediately if you develop any muscle pain, tenderness or weakness and change in the amont of urine. Other serious symptoms to look out for are yellowing of heeyes/skin, dark urine, severe stomach/abdominal pain, persistent nausea and vomiting.A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare.

Likely not. The most common side effects of statins (cholesterol drugs) are muscle pain and liver toxicity. Your numbness may be caused by something else; if you have diabetes, it could be the diabetes instead.

Zocor (Simvistatin sodium) is one of the cholestrol lowering agents reported to have such side effects as muscle weakness, cramping and soreness. Numbness as described has been reported in numerous joints and bones, including the big toe. Discontinuation may be a choice if your doctor feels the negative side affects outweigh the positive.

I don't think the numbness in your toe would be because you are taking zocor. Are there any other health conditions such as diabetes? If so, it could be due to neuropathy.

All side effects should be reported to your doctor however the numbness in your big toe is probably not related. The more common side effects of Zocor are muscle pain, constipation and stomach pain.

Yes, numbness in your big toe can be a side effect of taking Zocor. This prescription drug is to lower cholesterol, and does have a few side effects which include a darkening of urine, muscle pains and muscle aches, kidney damage, muscle weakness, and it does slow down the blood flow in the body. This can lead to numbness.
