Yes, tv can be used as a computer monitor. But the latest technology tv's only have this option of making the tv work as computer monitor. Special wires are packed along with the other wires of the tv while we purchase it. Just connect as given in the manual and thus it can be worked out easily.

Even If you don't have a newer TV, as mentioned by Jake there may be other options: If the computer is a laptop or has a video card that you bought separately, then it probably has TV out (probably with special cable) My laptop doesn't, and I have a VGA to S-video/composite converter box for it. If it's not an HDTV, expect low resolution (1024x768 might work, but will be fuzzy, 640x480 should look clear)

In most cases, yes. Newer TVs can accept VGA input directly from a computer, and older TVs can accept S-video or composite input. An adapter may be required.

Most modern high-end televisions come with a VGA input for direct connection to your computers graphics card. Another possibility is if your graphics card has a DVI output you can purchase a cable to connect to a HDMI port on your TV. Yes you can use your TV as a computer monitor. Reason for this is that the computer monitor has the same ground build like a tv. The computer only must have an TV output to give the signal in the right way to the TV.

Yes, if the tv has VGA slot, it can be used as a computer monitor also as this slot is needed to connect the montitor to the computer.
