Sure, why not? While using baby talk with humans can stunt the growth of their vocabulary, dogs don't speak. Even if you plan on later training the dog to respond to voice commands and gestures, it won't make a difference, since the dog is only learning those few specific words for the commands.

It's hard to resist baby talking with any type of baby, especially a cute, little puppy. Although, that cute, little puppy will one day become an adult dog and you may not want to be using baby terms with him. It's best to use appropriate commands. Another person may need to control him in the future.

Yes. Dogs recognize consistency in the way their owner speaks to them. They also can tell that yelling is someting outof the ordinary. Talking baby talk is fine as long as you are looking directly at the dog and calling his/her name. A dog will learn that you are being kind with that tone of voice.

The dog does things by your command, if you talk baby talk to him he will only respond to this type of talk. Talking in your normal tone will get the dog trained to hear your voice as a person in command. The same goes for a baby, your the adult and your tone should reflect it.
