Yes you can. The most used way is by putting the text in the body part of an e-mail message, but if you saved the file on your computer, you also can attach it to an e-mail.

Yes. Download AOL Instant Messenger onto your computer. Once you create a screen name, enter the following as a screen name into a new Instant Message to send a text message: +(country code)(area code)(prefix)(suffix). It should like this: +18885551234. Enter your message and click send.

To send a text message from your computer to a cell phone you would need to use a website that is enabled to do so. One free service that you can do that from is Google's GMail. You can sign up for a free account and in the Chat service you can send a text to a cell phone.

Yes you can by using some type of helper program like yahoo messenger which will allow you to do something like that.
