It is technically illegal to keep wild animals as pets in all the united states. The exception is if you are treating the animal for a life threatening injury.

A raccoon should never be kept as a pet, because they are wild animals. They can be very dangerous to people when they feel cornered. Also, they feel very unhappy in captivity. Besides, they are an endangered species, that should be left in the wild
