Can an account be garnished if I set up Automatic Bill Pay with a bank?

Garnishment means that court has ordered that money is to be paid whether from your paycheck or accounts. A court order is a higher priority then any other arrangement you might have with your bank. The money would have to already been paid and cleared for a garnishment to be denied for insufficient funds.

The prior arrangement that you made for an Automatic payment would be overriden if faced with a Granishment. Very simply, the Garnishment takes precedence.
