Can a bad fuel injector cause a rough idle at start-up?

I need troubleshooting suggestions, too.

A bad injector will cause rough idle all the time. You may have a bad temperature sensor, the older cars had a choke near the carburator. Check your wiring for defects and test your temp. sensors with an ohm meter both hot and cold readings. Replace the sensor.

A bad injector should either continually act up or act up after the engine has ran for awhile, not only during start up. I would clean all your sensors, replace the fuel filter, clean the iac valve, and make sure to give the engine a tune up and new plugs.

Bad fuel injectors can cause erratic engine operation, including a rough idle and possibly dangerous lean condition at higher speeds and loads. Vacuum leaks can also cause a rough idle.

Refer to a do-it-yourself manual. Fuel injector systems are complex and unless you are familiar with them it's recommended you take your vehicle to your dealer or repair shop.
