Generally half way thru your menstrual cycle. If your cycle is 28 days, then 14 days after the BEGINNING of your period, you ovulate.

Around ovulation. The trick is, you can't wait until you've already ovulated, that may be too late. You want there to be sperm in the area when the egg is released from the ovary into the fallopian tube. Try having sex every other day starting a four days before you ovulate until a few days after you ovulate.

You are most likely to get pregnant when your cervical mucus is very thick, like egg whites. The sperm has a better "travel system" to go through. This type of mucus typically occurs around mid-cycle.

You are more likely to get pregnant in between your menstrual cycles, that is when ovulation occurs, usually 11-14 days after your period, is when most ovulate.

The best time to conceive, is the day of ovulation. You can figure out the actual day that the egg will be released, by monitoring your temperature, the location of your cervix, and the thickness of the mucous. It is best to chart all of this for one month, as long as you have a regular cycle.
