By the time they reach 6 weeks, they should be on a regular sleep schedule and should be awake and more aware of sounds and lights, etc. It is possible they may be able to turn over.

He eyes should be wide open and he should acknowledge your voice. He should be looking around. Holding on to your fingers. Don't expect to much to soon. Their are some good baby book that go with the age development. This will give you peace of mind if you read one. They are pretty accurate.

A six week old infant will sleep, drink milk, poo and pee. Your infant can hear sound so play some lovely music or sing lullabies to him or her. It is also never to early to read books to them.

A six week old baby will begin to be more alert, turn his or her eyes or head in the direction of their parents voice and will seem to focus on your face. Six weeks is still very young for much development.
