Are wood studs used in RVs?

It would depend on the RV but most models made after 1985 do not have any wood studs as wood was being replaced by plastic in these vehicles.

Yes. Wood is an ideal material for the application because it is light, flexible and cheap. Wood frames allow the RV to be resilient to the bouncing and wind forces it is subject to while on the road. A light wood also allows for greater fuel economy at a lower initial cost than other materials.

Depending on the manufacturer wooden studs may be used in some non critical structure of a trailer or recreational vehicle within the reinforced steel framework but these studs are not as thick as those used in homes they could be as small as 2 inch by 2 inch lumber rather than 2 inch by 4 inch as used in homes.

Back in the 90s I think they were but not anymore. They used them beacuse they were light weight and just but partical borad over them to make the walls. Now in days they use something like fiberglass and alumminum to make it even lighter.
