...and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meet. Gen. 1:29
I have yet to see someone citing an example of a poisonous fruit that fulfills the above criteria. e.g. mistletoe is a parasitic plant within a tree.

People read your bibles! not berries or weeds...the text says "tree whose fruit yields seed.." name a fruit that comes from a tree whose flesh is toxic to humans. anyone? add a comment

Manchineel.
Just because you're too lazy to do your research doesn't mean the research doesn't exist. add a comment
There's lots of small poisonous berries, but did you ever see a big fruit that's poisonous? nope, because God made fruit for us to eat. :) Just more proof of God, for all you unbelievers.

God didn't make fruit, the EARTH made fruit and the EARTH grows it. Not some guy everyone was believed was alive and "Made the world" But how did he exist if he was the first being? That's right. add a comment

Agreed. You can't justify a "God" because of fruit. Christian theories are becoming stupider each day I swear. add a comment

Hilarious. Fruit proves the existence of God as much as the mold in my shower proves the existence of water sprites. add a comment

Someone scoffed at the idea that the existence of fruit might imply the existence of a creator. It's actually the only logical conclusion one can reach. Much like the existence of the car or the computer logically points to a creator. Creation implies a creator. add a comment

Hey , go look up "Manchineel". Whoops, I just disproved God.
Now how did this completely non-religious question get corrupted by religion? add a comment

Now if only people who said "creator" actually only meant "creator" and not "insert my own god here". add a comment

Yeah...and He made cancer to make our life more exciting... Honestly, whatever you believe, that's fine, but please...pretty please, with sugar on top, keep it to yourself. add a comment
There are many poisonous fruits, typically found in the form of berries. In particular, the berries of the juniper plant, the dogwood tree, holly, ivy, privet, and, of course, nearly all forms of the nightshade plant are poisonous to some degree.

you mean the nightshade family? there are some 2000 different species in the genus. and most potatoes, tomatoes, and peppers are pretty harmless. add a comment
Several common garden plants actually bear fruits that are poisonous to people. These varieties include the fruits of the yew tree, the castor bean plant, the daphne, the euonymus, the Christmas favorites the holly and the ivy, and some species of mistletoe, lupine, the mayapple tree, pyracantha and wisteria.
Yes, there are thousands of poisonous fruits, and many of them can be found on common weeds. Many members of the nightshade family are toxic, such as horse nettle, Jimson weed, and nightshade. There are so many that I can't mention them all in just 50 words.
A number of plants produce poisonous fruit. Some examples are cherry laurel, china berry, Jerusalem cherry, holly and mistletoe. Some common fruits that are safe to eat, such as peaches and apricots, contain poisonous seeds. The seeds of apples are also mildly toxic.

Yes... apple seeds have a compound related to cyanide, but you would have to eat a whole lot of them to cause any problems... the quantity of toxin in the seeds is very low. add a comment

Don't worry too much about the apple seeds. Even water is poisonous if you drink too much of it. add a comment
"All fruits, after Adam and Eve have eaten of the forbidden one, became toxic. They poison us to a certain degree, acute or chronic, and that's the mere reason why we die, aside from accident, homicide, murder, and the like. We will never die if they were not toxic!" Agree?
