Cats can get sarcoptic mange, which affects all mammals including human beings and is highly contagious. Also feline scabies, Cheyletiella, Otodectic (ear mites), Demodex cati, and Demodex gatoi. Demodex is bad because you can't tell your animal has it till the immune system is compromised. All these are very serious.

Cats do get mange, this is an infestation caused by mites. It is very painful and itchy. There are different types of mange but they are treatable.Cortizone ointments can be used to help relieve the problem.
