Sleeping pills can be dangerous if used improperly or by people without a prescription. Usually, doctors prescribe sleeping pills for short periods of time, so that the likelihood of dependence is reduced. It is crucial to avoid taking them in excessive doses or for extended durations so that the brain doesn't begin to need the drug in order to sleep.

There are some non-addictive sleeping tablets, some that are ok short term and some natural, gentle ones. Talk to your pharmacist or family doctor.
