Yes. Skunks come out of hiding shortly after the sun goes down and forage for their favorite food such as insects, plants, garbage etc... until dawn. They live the hours of a vampire. If you just purchased one as a pet, be prepared to hear odd noises in the middle of the night.

Skunks are not nocturnal, they are crepuscular. This means that they are mainly active during the twilight parts of the day, ie. dawn and dusk. They may also be active if there is a particularly bright moon.

Yes, skunks are awake during the night. That is when they feed and pray, this is why you often do not see skunks during the day.

Yes, for the large majority of cases, skunks are nocturnal animals that tend to roam around in the dark and get by your house and pets at this time of day.

Skunks are almost exclusively active at night. A skunk seen active during the daytime should raise suspicion for rabies, though this is not a certainty. Mother skunks may also be seen during the daytime, usually around dusk and dawn, when they have new baby skunks to feed and tend to.

Yes, Skunks are nocturnal. They have a dark body for camoflauge, and there is less competition for food.
