Are front better than top loader washers?

Currently I have a front-loading Maytag washer, and I like it a lot better than I used to like my Whirlpool top-loading washer. The only problem you really run into with front-loaders is having to bleach the seal often to keep it free from mildew and mold.

I don't think it makes much difference whether the washer loads from the top or front. I personally use a top loader and have no problem with it.

Overall, no. Front loaders are great for conserving water and energy, but they require special detergent, which can be costly. Also, since they use so much less water, it is hard to soak clothes that may need to be soaked in order to remove stains.
