Are Chef's salads good for you?

tHE ONLY part of a chefs salad that would be good for you are the greens and vegetables. The processed lunch meats are not healthy nor is the salad dressing unless it is fat free.

Salads themselves are good for you. Toppings that get added are what are what make a salad unhealthy. Dressing are made with oils and fat. The lettuce and vegetables though are full of vitamins and minerals.

A chef's salad is a balanced meal because it features all four food groups, and provided that it is not very large and the dressing has very little fat, it is very good for you.

Just because it has the word 'salad' in it doesn't mean it's good. You have to consider what the ingredients are, and what kind of salad dressing is used. You should also consider where it is made. So in short, with the right ingredients it can be good for you.

Provided it does not have a large amount of meat, cheese, and salad dressing on it, most salads are a good choice.
