Are backless bar stools uncomfortable?

I have to sit on them in art studios all the time, and they do strain your back after a long period of time, but are ok for the short-term.

They are uncomfortable and you would find yourself leaning on the table and hurting your back. There are okay for bars, but in the home setting you would want a back. Especially with children, they would fall off the stools. There are many great stypes of stools and you will have a great choice selecting them.
