The best leadership style comes from a military maxim: Never put your men somewhere you wouldn't go. Those "beneath" the leader understand if the leader has contempt for their jobs. They will, consequently, value the job less. Leaders lead from the front, able to do everything they ask of others.

There is a theory of two leaderships styles: X and Y. Style X is the more domineering and Y is the more guiding. Balancing the two is best.
