Both are good brands - recommend compare the efficiency rating, warranty (normally Carrier includes 10yr parts and labor, Trane includes 10 yr parts and one yr labor), size of the unit, cost, and customer reviews. Also research how easy it is to find people to service the unit and the availability and expense of any parts required.
