Bagbalm can be bought at most stores and is safe and non toxic to sooth animal teats. If you can not find Bagbalm look in the baby section for a lanolin based cream used for breastfeeding mothers this will also be non toxic and safe for your pet. If neither of these options work please consult a veterinarian.

It sounds like your dog has an infection that needs to be seen by a vet. Mastitis in dogs is fairly uncommon but she should be vetted regardless.

First, collect a blood sample and send a veterinarian laboratory to examine it, if there is any secretion, do the same, after defined if it is fungus or bacteria, and what kind, use an antibiotic, according to the label and also use an antibiotic cream for the inflamed area.

Enlarged teats could be a sign that the dog is ready to give birth. If the dog already has nursing puppies consult your vet for cream to apply for the soreness. Other causes could be scratching due to fleas.

It depends on if your dog is in heat, is pregnant, or has recently been pregnant. When dogs are in heat their teats swell, and if a dog has been pregnant it takes a long time for her teats to shrink back down. If they're really red she could have an infection, so you should take her to a vet.

You need to call the vet ask them if she is nursing puppies because there are things you can put on them but make sure it won't hurt the puppies.
