It is a mite that spreads from animal to animal. If your dog's immune system is compromised, it can't fight off the mite and can be really harmful.

Mange is caused by a mite that burrows under the dog's skin and causes great discomfort and itchiness. This type of mange is usually trasmitted from a mother dog to her puppies. There are gels and ointments that you can put on the affected areas that will relieve some of the discomfort.
