This is a totally unanswerable question since it doesn't state a time frame. Military service since when? Since Adam and Eve? Since World War II? Whatever the number it's way too many. Maybe one day we'll figure out that killing people does not end violence.

During combat in the history of wars the total comes to about 1,008,996. That is only basic research. The number can easily fluctuate depending on what kind of death you can count.

According to many sources on the internet, the number of people that have died in military service varies from article to article. Some websites have American losses as over 1 million through all major wars. The total loss for all countries on earth would probably be impossible to find.
