Can changing the ROM chip in the computer increase horsepower?

Yes, using a performance chip can slightly increase horsepower- usually at the cost of reliability and fuel economy. Performance chips alter the timing and fuel injection rate.

In some instances simply changing the ROM chip in your car can increase the horsepower. An aftermarket dealer will be able to help you make the conversion.

It is possible to increase performance of a car by doing this. At least back in the old days it was. Now there are hand-held scanners you can use to reprogram the ecu without physically modifying. They should let you change pre-programmed settings as well as increase horsepower.

yes i do believe when you change the chip you do do faster because the chip is making the car read off the chip and increase the horsepower
