Absolutely! Sinus infections can cause pain in almost any place on the face, including the gums, nose and neck. You may even experience pain in your ear from infected sinuses.

Sinus Infection will cause pain in the teeth, gums, and even nose. This is due to the swelling and build up of mucus in the maxillary sinus. This causes pressure on the nerves running by the sinus. The swelling causes impingement on the nerve area and these nerves supply the teeth, gums and nose.

Sinus infections are funny things in that the pain that they cause can radiate away from the original site of infection. So, yes, you may have pain at a location that is not traditionally considered a location of a sinus. This location could be the upper gums or the base of the nose.

A sinus infection can cause pain in the gums and or the base of the nose because there are sinus passages running through different parts of a persons head. So that's why the pain travels.
