Why would an HP laptop's power light blink?

There are two reasons that the power light could blink. The first reason is that the battery is about to die so it needs to be charged. The second reason is the computer is running on AC power instead of the battery if you have the computer plugged into the wall.

A blinking power light on any laptop is a standardized low battery warning. When you see this happening, check how much battery life you have left and plug it in to charge it as needed.

A blinking power light can mean different things depending on the model of the laptop. Most of the time when the light is blinking its supposed to be a visual alert to you that the laptop is low on battery.

In case of power light: it is blinking when your laptop has to be charged. In other case it never will be blinking. Or if you mean the light from power button then it means that your laptop is on sleep mode or another mode.
