Why were people put in concentration camps? What were they concentrating on?

"They" were concentrating on concentrating the jews, gypsies, and any others in society that were not considered pure "Aryan" in Germany and the countries it conquered during WWII. By bringing them all together the Germans were able to control them and use them for labor, medical experiments, etc. They figured it would allow them to develop a pure aryan society.

Concentration camps were horrible places to live, and the German Nazis put anyone who didn't fit into their ideal of a person into them. The people were tortured in them.
