There are bacteria in the air conditioning system from condensation. Turn the air on with the temp on "Hot" and let it run awhile to dry it out.

It sounds like you have some type of mold or mildew growing in your ac condenser. Use a foaming cleaner to clean the system out.

The smell could be coming from your ac evaporator, if it is clogged. If it does not drain it could mold causing the smell that is coming from the ac.

This could be caused by the interior filter getting wet and needing to be replaced. This could also be caused from leaves or debris getting into vents and rotting.
You probably have mold in your ac condenser. Buy a can of condenser cleaner and follow the direction on how to apply it. That should clear it out.
