Why is my goldfish sitting at the bottom of the tank?

Goldfish still need a steady air supply. Many people just leave them in bowls and some fish are all right, but most perish fast. If your goldfish is at the bottom you might want to consider getting a small tank with a water purifier that creates bubbles of air. Your goldfish will be very please.

A reason your Goldfish could be doing this is it may have some form of a sickness. I have read so that if you take Uncooked frozen peas have them sit out to defrost slightly and then place them in the tank water it can help with many Goldfish problems.

unfortunately your goldfish may die, they do not swim so much as they near the end of their lives be prepared for the worst, the gold fish is ill that is why it is not swimming.

The reason might be that it is hiding from public view. It is probably just relaxing, waiting to be fed some food and then once it is fed, it will go to the top of the tank.
