Why is my Cavalier's steering pump noisy?

I have gotten this same noise on cars and it usually has been that the power steering pump in shot. However the issue may not be as serious, sometimes the pump makes noise on oversteer or if it is low on fluid.

Well if the pump is making noise it could either be the belt causing it or it could be going bad. Check the belt tension to make sure it is the right specification. If that doesn't help then your bearing may be bad and you need to replace the pump.
