It is a good indication of having a respiratory infection which can be fatal. The 'whispering' sounds you hear are wheezing. This rabbit needs to get to the vet NOW.

Mouthing breathing is generally a sign of two things. One, she's very warm and needs a faster way to cool down. She'll loose more heat through her mouth than normal breathing. Two, she has an upper respiratory infection and can't inhale through her nose well.

Your bunny is experiencing some kind of stress. It could be excitement and interest. Or, if persistent, it could be a sign of distress-- a pulmonary virus, or the like.

Becase her nose is blocked up. She can't get enough air through her nose, because she has a cold. Maybe you should put some more bedding for her in her cage, so she doesn't get cold late at night. She has to stay warm to get better and be happy.
