There are many reasons that different speakers can sound louder than others -- look at your stereo and see if there is a setting for a volume level for the front and back speakers. See if there a a "room" setting where it has different settings for the front/back speakers

Could be a number of reasons. The shape of your room might effect how loud the speaker sounds. Older speakers can become less 'loud'. The issue could also be your amp's balance setting - this is the setting the makes one side louder than the other.

Make sure your balance is adjusted correctly. There could also be a problem with your speaker, or one of the speakers could have crossed wires. Check the connections, or try to switch the speakers and see if the problem still exists. This will at least help you determine the problem.

Well the first thing to do is to check your balance. Somehow it might have been moved to one side. Otherwise you may have a loose connection on the weak side or the speaker might have some problem.

There are two likely reasons for this. One, one of the speakers may be faulty causing less sound to come out of it. Otherwise, the settings may be set up incorrectly. Read the directions for how to set up the surround sound properly.
