Why does my oscar fish float on its side?

If that's all it does, then I'm sorry, it's dead. If not, it could be several things. Too much carbon dioxide absorbed into the water or even parasites could throw off a fish's balance. For a large cichlid such as an Oscar, you could take it to a specialized vet.

Your tank seems to contain bad water or water that is not properly changed. Toxicity in the water has to be brought down drastically.

Aquarium has poor water quality. Change 25% of the water. Changing all the water at once shocks the fish. Add water conditioner to dechlorinate the water. Change every 5 days.
