if its automatic transmission then you starts up the car and press a little the brake pedal then change the position of gears in drive in or reverse by pressing the gear release knob.

You may have a transmission linkage problem. Also check the transmission fluid for burnt orange color and smell. You may need to have your gera shift serviced.

Depending on the age of the car, this is a fairly big indicator that the transmission is faulty. Older Mercedes have high weights, so this is common.

This is most likely due to rusty gears. You should locate where they are and oil them, make sure the car is off when you do this. If the problem continues, take your car to a local dealer or call the company that makes the car and ask for directions.

More than likely the shifter or the linkage need lubricated. Get under the car and make sure everything is properly lubricated and operates smoothly.

Most likely it is not receiving the signal from your brakes that allows the shifter to shift, most likely a problem with the PCU.

To be honest I've never heard a Benz get stuck in this matter, but probably your car has some miles on board and needs some serious repairs done real soon.

If so, the rod that unlocks the quadrant underneath the plastic is messed up. If this is the type of car that you have to step on the brake before you can shift out of park, then the switch at the top of the brake pedal is probably bad and it is not telling the elect
