Why does my front loader washer smell bad?

Most people keep the washer door closed all the time, so the washer never dries out. The rubber boot at the front near the door will tend to get mildew. Just wipe it down with a house hold cleaner or very dilute bleach solution (it is a washer) and leave the door open when you aren't using it.

Your washer is not draining completely. There is a timer located in the control panel of the unit which is not working properly.

You may have an infestation of mold and mildew in the rubber door seals from the constant wet-dry cycles in the machine. Clean off the mold with a bleach-water solution.

Well the smell is probably due to some water that has set in it and caused mold. Run some type of cleaner through it without any clothes on the hottest setting. Bleach or vinegar should do the trick.

Washing machines, when finished, leave a little water in the basin. With the door shut, the basin does not have a chance to dry out completely. This could cause bacteria and mildew to grow and produce the odor. You can leave the door open to let the basin dry.
