Why does my dog like his head scratched?

Dogs like to be scratched or rubbed on their heads, area over tail, chest and the belly.. just as humans like to have their back scratched! Dogs recognize this is one of the ways the owner shows affection. Scratching or rubbing between the ears can calm a dog and sometimes relax him enough the dog will go to sleep.

It's really not known why dogs like to be scratched. The answer is simply, it feels goods. During the time they are being scratched they are also receiving your attention.
